His Light Shines Brightest In The Dark!

“The people living in darkness have seen a great Light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, upon them a Light has dawned.”    Matthew 4:16

“So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others. Be generous with your lives! By the good you do, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Dear Catalyst Church,

The year 2020 may go down in history as one of the most trying and painful years ever in our world! Pastor Angela and I have, like all of you, had to deal with the challenges, uncertainties and separation that a global pandemic brings. In our hearts we carry a burden for all of you in our Catalyst family, whom we have grown to love so much! We recognize that many of you are experiencing your own personal trials and anxieties in your lives!

But still, in this Christmas season, we can confidently remind ourselves, with eyes that have seen the goodness and faithfulness of God, that even in 2020 God was and is working for our good! This is the perfect time to remember the truth that God’s light; His love and hope, still shine brightest in the darkest places. The world into which Jesus was born was such a place. His chosen people living hundreds of years without a fresh prophetic voice and under the oppressive yoke of a cruel Empire. You didn’t have to look too far to see masses of people in the world of Jesus day struggling with anxiety, poverty, sickness, and a religious system that favored the elite.

We now know that those dismal conditions were actually the backdrop for God to unleash the greatest news the world has ever known! A Savior was born, the Son of God comes to earth to show us the way of forgiveness…hope! God’s goodness, mercy and love are embraced by the poor, the forgotten, and the “least of these.” God’s righteous and eternal Kingdom are proclaimed and initiated through Christ sacrifice. And all who put their faith in Him are reborn into God’s forever family! No greater hope or good news could be given!

As we once again remember Jesus birth and victory over all things evil, let us worship Him with our entire being! As we do, we will be refreshed and renewed in His goodness and changed by His power to make us more like Him! Church, be awakened once again to the royal calling we have to be carriers of His light and love to the souls around us! God’s grace and power will always save the day! Through our lives and testimonies, Jesus can continue to be born…not in Bethlehem, but in human hearts where He longs to be!

Wishing You a God-Filled and Joyous Christmas Season!
Every Blessing in Christ,

Pastors David & Angela Munizzi
